I’m sure you have all seen if not owned one of these coffee tables, so you won’t be surprised to hear that I found one for $3.00 at a garage sale! I suppose that they too knew the commoninity of the table when they priced it. Yes, commoninity. I made it up. It is now a thing. Thank you. Just so we are all clear, if I ever see anything less than $5.00 at a rummage sale; I’m walking away with it. This, coincidentally, is probably the reason many of my projects end up sitting in my garage, waiting, not unlike this one. I swear my garage is like that land of misfit toys.
“Hey, who are you?”
“I’m a Charlie In The Box!”
I digress, sorry. Several weeks…okay months went by, until one day I was given this beautiful teal fabric. Like most things I am gifted, they move to the top of the to do list. I guess I feel somehow indebted to the gift gods and must make use of them straight away. When I placed the fabric on the table to give it a test fit, this beauty raised its hand the highest and said “Get me the heck out of Misfit Land”.
I painted it a bright white, covered the top and changed the hardware to these sweet little crystal knobs and then I let this babe out of the coral to roam free. Really though, no big Teal!
