Rock Me Gently, Rock Me Slowly, I’m Antique

This beautiful rocking chair is over 50 years old, but still has good bones. It’s also super comfortable, so when my friend asked me to give it a makeover, I couldn’t say no.

I sanded the arms and base, then stained them a deep chocolate called Kona, by Rustoleum. I added the beautiful antique gold nail-head trim to give it some pizzazz, but still keep it masculine. Lastly, a clear coat over the wood, then some leather conditioner for the back and seat cushion. Now is doesn’t look a day over 30!

I love the way the dark chocolate brown looks against the caramel leather. I better stop typing, I’m making myself hungry for a sundae!
